Winchester Wave 2026 Season Welcome Back!

Dear Winchester Wave Families,

My name is Adam Smith and, on behalf of the newly created Winchester Wave Swim Board, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you back for the 2026 season and share some important updates and information as we prepare to open registration on April 1 (next week!)

First, the Winchester Homeowners Association (under which the swim team operates) has endorsed and approved the creation of a board to organize and manage the swim team going forward. We do not anticipate this having a significant impact on the day-to-day operations of the team but will more so help direct the efforts behind the scenes. Being a newly created entity, we are currently seeking someone to fill one of the two “at-large” positions on the board. If you are interested in volunteering your time in that capacity or just want to learn more, please reach out to [email protected].

Secondly, we are putting the finishing touches on the registration form for this season and anticipate being live and ready to receive registrations on April 1. This year, in addition to the Winchester resident and the multiple swimmer discounts we have offered in years past, we are also offering an “early registration” discount for families that register and we receive payment from by April 17.

Next, I want to send an initial request for you to please consider the following to support this season’s success:

  1. If you know any families that might be interested in joining our team (especially in those close-by neighborhoods without pools or swim teams), please invite them to join us this summer!
  2. If you own or know of anyone that owns a business that might be interested in advertising with or otherwise sponsoring a local youth sports team, please direct them our way.
  3. Please consider what volunteer roles you may be particularly called to assist with this year. As you know, it takes an army of volunteers to execute the meets and other swim team events and all families are needed to fill these roles. If you have any questions about any of the volunteer jobs, please see the website resource HERE or email [email protected].

Finally, I wanted to send a note of thanks to Trisha Lee who has decided to transition out of the role of Winchester Swim Team President and into the enviable role of dedicated parent and volunteer extraordinaire. Her effort these past several years has been tireless and her vast knowledge of everything that goes into planning and executing a successful summer swim season is an invaluable resource for us in this time of transition.

I apologize for the length of this email, I am excited to see you all on deck and your kids in the pool in the very near future!  GO WAVE!

Adam Smith

President, Winchester Wave Swim Board
