Friendship: Nothing like being a part of a team to build strong bonds with your teammates and coaches! Cheering on teammates as they compete, working towards common goals, and encouraging each other through challenges- through Winchester Wave swim team your kids can make new friends and strengthen existing friendships during the lazy days of summer.
Teamwork: Fostering good teamwork skills will benefit your kids during their school year, on to their adult lives.
Sportsmanship: We are blessed to have some of the greatest coaches in the annals of summer swim history! Their emphasis on excellence and being a good sport simultaneously is what makes Winchester Wave swim team such a successful and storied group!
Fitness: Get your kids up and moving and away from screens! It's just so hot in Charlotte during the summer, it’s one of the best (and one of the only) ways to get your kids outside and exercising during our crazy heat!) Swimming is a great way to release energy while improving cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. It improves flexibility, is easy on joints, and is a lifelong exercise.
Leadership: We have the opportunity for our very own swimmers to be developed as leaders via our Jr. Coach, Assistant Coach, & Head Coach track. And each season two outstanding leaders from each age group will be recognized and awarded at our end of season banquet.
Community: What a wonderful way to get to know your neighbors! And since summer swim leagues are reliant upon parent volunteers, it’s not just the swimmers who enjoy the community built from the Winchester Wave swim season- whole families benefit!
