Our Coaches

Taylor Carrol

Head Coach

I am so thrilled to be the Head Coach for Winchester Wave this season! I was born and raised in Concord, and still reside there today with my 2 dogs.

My swimming career started at the age of 6, when I nervously joined the summer league team at my local YMCA. The nerves wore off quick though, and I remember begging my parents at the end of the season to join a year-round team. (I wanted all the ribbons!)

For the next 10 years, I swam year-round for MAC and went to Junior Olympics several times; ranking nationally. In the summers, I swam for Sheffield Manor Swim Team and was Conference Champ for 6 years straight.

When I hit 16, my shoulders could no longer keep up with the two-a-day practices with MAC, so I finished out my last year with NOMAD. After years of pushing through the pain, physical therapy and cortisone shots, I decided to hang up the goggles. Even though my body wasn’t able to perform the way it once could, my passion for swim didn’t stop there.

I have been teaching swim lessons for 15 years at the pool I learned to swim at and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon! I started my Coaching career with A.L. Brown High School where I coached for several years. Since 2020, I have been the Head Coach for Mount Pleasant High School and have loved every minute of it. Last season, I was named Yadkin Valley Coach of the Year and this year, I experienced my first trip to States as a Coach!

My goal this season for Wave is to create a culture that encourages a fun, safe learning environment for all swimmers of all abilities, while promoting skill development and character! I truly cannot wait to meet everyone and get this season started!

Assistant Coach

I am so excited to be an assistant coach this year! I grew up in Winchester and swimming for Wave, so I’ve always been super involved in the Winchester community and this team. I’ve been swimming for this team for nine years and this is my second year coaching. I have been swimming for Mount Pleasant high school the past two years and have gone to regionals in multiple events both years. Swimming has always been a huge and important part of my life and I’m so excited to help other kids grow their love for this sport and for this team!
