SPORTSMANSHIP:
- We have the best team in the league- nay- in the world! It’s a special season of the year and the way we foster that is by being examples OURSELVES.
- Please be kind. Be kind to each human we get to interact with this season and we will all make some wonderful memories.
- As parents, we set the tone for our team and our children. Kids may not drop time each time they swim and they definitley won’t win every race they compete in- and yet we someone end up having AMAZING improvement over the course of the season
- Winchester Code of Conduct
VOLUNTEERS:
- We are absolutely reliant on volunteers.
- Each family needs to fulfil at least 8 volunteer points (points are indicated online with the position) This roughly equals 4 meets of the 8 that we have over the season. You can sign up for an entire meet or half a meet.
- Younger swimmers will be done earlier in the meet- if you’re a parent of younger swimmers, try to get 1st half shifts. If you are a parent of an older swimmer, take the 2nd half shifts.
- Volunteer Training night- Friday, May 24th. Come during your child’s practice and get a crash course on as many volunteer positions as you’d like.
- All volunteer position descriptions can be found on our website
PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS:
- We don’t take attendance at practices- if you need to miss, that’s fine.
MEET EXPECTATIONS:
- If you cannot attend a meet, please let the coaches know ASAP via the Swimmingly Clubhouse site. https://clubhouse.swimmingly.app
- PLEASE RSVP: If a swimmer doesn’t rsvp then their entire relay team could scratch their event.
- RSVP REGRETS ONLY if your swimmer can’t attend a meet- We assume swimmers will be there.
- IF notifying the coaches within 24hours, please use email as well. The meet may already be written and it won’t be accurately communicated.
- Plan on arriving to Home meets around 5:00 PM for a 5:15 warm up
- Plan on arriving to Away meets around 5:15 PM for a 5:30 warm up
- Meets start at 6:00 PM
- Each swimmer at meets is allowed to swim up to 3 individual events and up to 2 relays.
- Swimmers just developing their strokes will just start with freestyle and backstroke
